On January 23, 2010, a team of four US runners will tackle the Brazil 135 Ultramarathon. Their goal is to complete the 135-mile run in under 48 hours, through challenging mountainous terrain and tropical conditions.

As tough as the race will be, growing up in extreme poverty, often without parents, is a lot tougher. Like many other countries around the world, Brazil suffers from a growing population of homeless children, with matters made worse by the spread of AIDS.
To make a difference, we are using this race as a catalyst to raise funds to support Casa Nossa, a local mission that serves homeless and low-income girls, helping to educate them, teach them productive skills and keep them off the streets and safe from prostitution, crime and drugs. The funds we raise will pay for the construction of a gymnasium to be used for education and sports activities.
